Iustitia est constans et perpetua voluntas ius suum quique tribuendi. – Justice is the constant and permanent will to give everyone the right that belongs to them.

Qui suo iure utitur, neminen laedit. –  The one who enjoys his own right injures no one

Nemo plus iuris in alium transferre potest quam ipse habet. – No one can transfer to another more rights than he himself has.

Bis de eadem re ne sit actio. – It is not allowed to sue twice in the same matter.

Nulla poena sine lege. – No penalty  without a law.

Error (ignorantia) iuris nocet, error facti non nocet. – Error (ignorance) about the law is harmful, and error about the fact is not harmful.

Mater semper certa est. – The mother is always certain.

Pater est quem nuptiae demonstrant. – The father is he whom marriage indicates.

Ne bis in idem. – Not twice in the same thing.
